All timber components used by Knysna Timber Homes are preservative treated to comply with relevant SABS standards and termite infestation is therefore eliminated.

Knysna Timber Homes has to date no knowledge of excess on the insurance of any of the buildings constructed by them.

All major financial institutions will finance a Knysna Timber Homes Building.

Maintenance of external paint and varnish finishes is generally like plastered brick and mortar buildings. Natural timber exterior wall cladding however requires marginally more maintenance than painted fibre cement cladding which compares favorably with plastered brick walls.

As well as any other well-constructed building and in some cases outlast conventional brick and mortar buildings.

Timber Buildings are more suitable for unstable soil conditions. Knysna Timber Homes buildings are lighter with foundations and wall construction systems specifically designed to cope with some form of movement in their structures.
